Heidi Klum and her fellow cohorts on Lifetime's "Project Runway" were spotted this week using the HTC Magic -- or better known as the myTouch 3G here in the U.S. We're not quite people of fashion here at Android Central, but maybe these fashionistas could consult with the always properly dressed, Ari Gold, and learn about the popular and never out of style -- Nexus One. Just saying ... Thanks, Andrew!

T-Mobile released its second-quarter earnings report today. Check out these numbers:
So, a mix of good and bad for America's No. 4 wireless provider. As contract customers have (on average) higher monthly bills, the net loss of those prepaid customers isn't quite so bad. Also, these numbers don't reflect the launch of the Samsung Vibrant, which by all indications has sold quite well for T-Mobile. Plus, TMO is supposed to be announcing their first fully HSPA+ compliant device soon and a rumored dual-core Snapdragon phone might be coming, both of which should give them something to brag about. Full presser after the break.

We've already seen the mysterious (and as-yet unannounced) myTouch 3G HD, which is rumored to be T-Mobile's first HSPA+ phone, from the front. Looks like the same tipster fed TmoNews the back of the device.
No word yet on if these pictures are real or if this is in fact T-Mobile's first HSPA+ phone. T-Mobile is keeping their lips sealed on this one, so it's likely we won't know for a while. But we're likely to see more of this before release, we reckon. Does the back of the phone change any opinions you had about the device prior? [TmoNews]

T-Mobile UK's G2, which U.S. users might know as the HTC Hero, will be getting an over-the-air update to Android 2.1 ("Eclair") in the coming weeks. The G2 will join the Hero, which received 2.1 back in May.
For any G2 users who want to know what new hotness they will be receiving, our video walkthrough of Sense on the Evo 4G should be pretty close to what you will be getting. Highlights include : an updated Market, live wallpapers (might we suggest zombies?), and Google Maps Navigation. [T-Mobile UK via CoolSmartphone]

With 160,000 activations a day, there's a huge number of people waiting for the HTC Sense UI version of Froyo to show up. I know all of us here sure are. Usually, we have to pass on the random screenshot tip that rolls in, but in this case they are worth talking about. To be sure -- we can in no way verify that these are real, as anyone with a rudimentary set of Android ROM cooking skills and a copy of Photoshop could pull them off. On the other hand, a Froyo version of Sense UI should be in testing somewhere, and it would look pretty much like this (watermarks and all) if it were to show itself.
With all that out of the way, if anyone out there in the 'tubes needs a hand testing, or removing watermarks from a legit Sense 2.2 leak, just sing out. I'm sure we can find you some help :) Hit the break to see one more screenshot of the camera application showing off 720p resolution. Thanks Dan!

If you use a custom ROM on your Android phone, you should know about CyanogenMod. If you don't, go hit Google now, then come right back. (pretty freakin' sweet, huh?) With the drop of the Froyo (Android 2.2) source code everyone is patiently waiting for the code wizards behind the CyaongenMod project to give us the kind of custom goodness we've become used to. To quell the mountain of inquiries, Cyanogen himself has updated the CyanogenMod homepage with a progress report.
The condensed version? Things are going well. The Nexus One and Droid ports "just work," the Dream/Sapphire port has everything but one minor issue working, Wes Garner has the Slide (MyTouch 3G slide) port well underway, and ports for the Desire, Incredible, and Evo have no status report as of yet. Also, we're told to expect some experimental releases (for the Nexus One and Droid most likely) by the weekend. (YAY!) Hit the source link to read the post and take a minute to thank Steve and the whole crew for their hard work! [CyanogenMod]

Who says only the latest and greatest Android phones will get Android 2.2? Not T-mobile. HTC already let us know that all their Android devices manufactured this year would be getting a Froyo update, but that left users of 2nd generation hardware wondering if they would ever be seeing it. That question has just been answered for myTouch 3G users.
What this means for other second-generation hardware is unknown. Also unknown is the all important date when myTouch 3G users should expect their Android 2.2 update. We don't have a clue, but you can count on reading about it here when we know more. [TmoNews]

Likely in anticipation of the upcoming T-Mobile myTouch 3G Slide launch, the original myTouch is now available for free from T-Mobile (with new two-year contract). Remember, the myTouch 3G started off as the second Android device ever and turned into T-Mobile's flagship Android device (it still gets tons of commercials!)--it was definitely a solid phone from Android's previous generation. But with the myTouch 3G Slide besting the myTouch 3G in every way, it was due for a huge price cut. If you really want a myTouch, we'd wait until June 2nd for the myTouch 3G Slide. It doesn't make sense to invest in the previous generation anymore, even if it is for free. [t-mobile via tmonews]

Finally, after so many months in the dark, it looks like the T-Mobile myTouch 3G will get an update to Android 2.1. Hip hip hooray! According to Andrew Sherrard, T-Mobile's VP of Product Innovation, the myTouch 3G will receive the update to 2.1 and the updated UI that we've seen in the myTouch Slide. Features like the 'Genius' button will also be put into the myTouch which means the myTouch 3G will pretty much become a brand new device.
As great as this is, it's not too surprising. Rogers has planned an upgrade for the Magic for some time already, so it's more like a confirmation. T-Mobile is currently doing internal testing to fix out the bugs so everything will be in working order. Sadly the timeline is the ever so vague "soon". Check out the myTouch Slide UI in action to get an idea of what your myTouch 3G will look like in the future. [techland via tmonews]
What's black and white and red all over? The new myTouch Slide, of course! Semi-official (hey, it hasn't been announced yet) pictures have come out showing the next step in the line of T-Mobile HTC Android phones in Technicolor. By offering color options and adding some form of HTC's Sense to the phone, it looks like they're really pushing the customization of the myTouch series of phones. Hopefully they'll drop those bubbles, though ...
So who wants what color? [CellPhone Signal]
