Heidi Klum and her fellow cohorts on Lifetime's "Project Runway" were spotted this week using the HTC Magic -- or better known as the myTouch 3G here in the U.S. We're not quite people of fashion here at Android Central, but maybe these fashionistas could consult with the always properly dressed, Ari Gold, and learn about the popular and never out of style -- Nexus One. Just saying ... Thanks, Andrew!

Oh, what the hell. We had the first hands-on with the HTC Aria, the Droid X got into Engadget's hands, the myTouch 3G Slide was rooted, and the Evo 4G is perched atop the Palm Touchstone inductive charger and got overclocked to 1.2GHz. Quite the Tuesday, eh? So let's get it all off our chests before Wednesday rolls around (with a nod and a wink to our European readers).

T-Mobile has Father's Day covered, apparently, with a leaked document showing that every phone in TMo's inventory will be free on June 19. TMoNews scored what purportedly is a couple of commercial scripts. We won't know for sure that these weren't ginned up by somebody with 10 minutes to spare until it happens. But in the meantime, you can start pondering over whether you want to walk out with a myTouch 3G Slide, myTouch 3G, G1, Samsung Behold II, Motorola Cliq XT, Motorola Cliq, or Garminfone (dang, that's a lot of Android!) in exchange for a couple of years of service, we assume. We imagine there are one or two of you out there who aren't interested in that other phone being released this week. And it's our pleasure to bring you the T-Mobile myTouch 3G Slide, which is now available for $179.99 after the usual contract, rebate and whatnot. You'll have three colors from which to choose -- red, white and black -- and you'll be the first kid on your block with the latest HTC Android smartphone with a slide-out keyboard. Namaste. To no one's surprise, T-Mobile is positioning the myTouch 3G Slide as its next big device launch. In fact, from these leaked slides, it looks like their building an entire summer campaign around the myTouch brand. We've been decently impressed with what we've seen in the myTouch 3G Slide and think it vibes with all those current and former Sidekick, T-Mobile G1, and myTouch 3G users. Given that most people who bought the G1 are due for an upgrade, the myTouch 3G Slide's release can't come at a more perfect time.
Some cool details in the leaked slides show that there'll be A LOT of advertising for the myTouch 3G Slide (like for the original myTouch) and a big push on accessories (which we're sure you'll be able to find here). What's interesting is that though the launch date is June 2, myTouch 3G Slides won't be demoed in store until June 7 and the ad campaign doesn't start til June 16. June 17 is marked mysteriously and interestingly as: "STAY TUNED - THIS WILL BE BIG". What could that mean? [via engadget]

Likely in anticipation of the upcoming T-Mobile myTouch 3G Slide launch, the original myTouch is now available for free from T-Mobile (with new two-year contract). Remember, the myTouch 3G started off as the second Android device ever and turned into T-Mobile's flagship Android device (it still gets tons of commercials!)--it was definitely a solid phone from Android's previous generation. But with the myTouch 3G Slide besting the myTouch 3G in every way, it was due for a huge price cut. If you really want a myTouch, we'd wait until June 2nd for the myTouch 3G Slide. It doesn't make sense to invest in the previous generation anymore, even if it is for free. [t-mobile via tmonews]

Finally, after so many months in the dark, it looks like the T-Mobile myTouch 3G will get an update to Android 2.1. Hip hip hooray! According to Andrew Sherrard, T-Mobile's VP of Product Innovation, the myTouch 3G will receive the update to 2.1 and the updated UI that we've seen in the myTouch Slide. Features like the 'Genius' button will also be put into the myTouch which means the myTouch 3G will pretty much become a brand new device.
As great as this is, it's not too surprising. Rogers has planned an upgrade for the Magic for some time already, so it's more like a confirmation. T-Mobile is currently doing internal testing to fix out the bugs so everything will be in working order. Sadly the timeline is the ever so vague "soon". Check out the myTouch Slide UI in action to get an idea of what your myTouch 3G will look like in the future. [techland via tmonews]
T-Mobile today introduced the myTouch 3G Slide, bringing a horizontal slider keyboard to the popular device. The myTouch 3G Slide runs Android 2.1 on a 3.4-inch HVGA touchscreen. It's less than 15mm thick and comes with an 8GB microSD card. But instead of the new Sense user interface like what's on the Verizon HTC Droid Incredible, the myTouch 3G Slide has what's been long-dubbed the "Espresso" UI -- kind of a hybrid between Sense and stock Android.
The myTouch 3G Slide also introduces the "Genius Button," which pairs Nuance Communications' natural language technology to provide one-touch voice-controlled access to make calls, send e-mail and text messages, search the Internet, find directions, etc. Nuance's Dragon Dictation also is loaded on the myTouch 3G Slide to provide dictation in any text field, and it also can read aloud incoming messages.
The myTouch 3G Slide also features the Nuance Mobile Care-powered MyAccount 3.0, which lets you access and manage your T-Mobile account from your phone -- and from the Genius Button.
The myTouch Slide 3G will be available in June (date and pricing to be announced) in either white, red or black. Full press release after the break.
What's black and white and red all over? The new myTouch Slide, of course! Semi-official (hey, it hasn't been announced yet) pictures have come out showing the next step in the line of T-Mobile HTC Android phones in Technicolor. By offering color options and adding some form of HTC's Sense to the phone, it looks like they're really pushing the customization of the myTouch series of phones. Hopefully they'll drop those bubbles, though ...
So who wants what color? [CellPhone Signal]
The beautiful T-Mobile myTouch 3G Fender Edition is coming back! T-Mobile retail stores will reportedly be receiving one additional shipment of the limited edition, guitar-inspired Android device on March 31st (which is this Wednesday!). As it quickly sold out its first go around, we expect more of the same this time, so be quick if you want in! When we had our hands-on with the myTouch 3G Fender Edition, we were very impressed with the build and finish. We think you'd think the same.
Anyone interested in getting the myTouch 3G Fender Edition this time around? [via tmonews]
